Job Title: Talent Manager

Team: ICT

One thing you bring to your role:

One thing I bring to my role is experience in state government recruitment. A lot of my work is within government departments and having spent some time recruiting for NSW Departments, I’m aware of the process similar to all Government Departments and can therefore manage candidates expectations and the experience throughout the process.

What tip would you give someone looking to join the Defence industry?

I would say that someone looking to join the defence industry should have patience with the recruitment process. It is generally very slow due to the sign offs needed for roles, however, once you are in, it opens a massive amount of doors and you could have an entire career in Defence gaining security clearances and working on some of the biggest projects Australia has to offer.

What are the biggest mistakes candidates make in an interview?

Not being clear and concise. The last thing an interviewer wants is a candidate to waffle on. The answer should be clear and concise and use examples from his past experience.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

Play rugby - that's how I ended up out in Australia, I left university and came out here to play rugby instead.
