Project Manager

Job description

This role combines project delivery leadership with stakeholder engagement and client coordination in a simulation and training environment. You will work closely with Defence stakeholders, internal delivery teams, subcontractors, and executive leadership to ensure projects are delivered successfully, on time, and aligned to client expectations.

The position is ideally suited to someone who enjoys operating within a fast-paced SME environment and is comfortable balancing delivery execution with commercial and client-facing Approximately 80% Project Management & Delivery Coordination and Approximately 20% Program Management & Client Engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key interface between the company and Defence/client stakeholders
  • Support program-level coordination across multiple projects and reporting
  • Assist with project scope discussions, priorities, delivery timelines, and stakeholder management
  • Assist in proposal development, tender support, and business development activities
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple projects
  • Coordinate project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, risks, issues, and resource allocation
  • Maintain project reporting, documentation, and governance requirements
  • Coordinate instructional design, multimedia, technical, and development resources

Essential

  • Demonstrated project management experience within Defence, government, training, learning and development, or related sectors
  • Formal project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or equivalent
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
  • Ability to manage schedules, milestones, risks, reporting, and delivery outcomes
  • Commercial awareness and ability to identify scope or delivery impacts
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance

Ideally, candidates will have experience within Defence learning systems, simulation, training development, or eLearning environments. Understanding Defence capability development or procurement environments, and supporting bids, tenders, or business development activities.
