Senior Electrical Engineer

About the Role
In this role, you'll contribute to the design, integration, and assurance of electrical systems across complex naval platforms. You'll work alongside a high-performing, multidisciplinary team, playing a key role in delivering capability outcomes across major maritime projects.
This is a strong opportunity to work on high-impact Defence programs, where your expertise will directly influence system performance, survivability, and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and advise on electrical system technical risks, including performance and survivability
- Review and provide feedback on technical deliverables from prime contractors
- Conduct and review electrical engineering calculations for naval platforms
- Support combat system integration, including electrical requirements and interface definition
- Contribute to systems engineering activities (requirements, traceability, design assurance)
- Mentor and support team members to uplift engineering capability
Requirements
- Degree-qualified Electrical or Marine Systems Engineer
- Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain NV1 (or higher) Security Clearance
- Experience with marine electrical power generation and distribution systems
- Understanding of electrical propulsion and power management systems
- Experience in naval ship design or Defence maritime programs
- Exposure to systems integration
- Knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle (requirements through to V&V)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and ability to work across teams
