ABOUT THIS ROLE

Our client is looking for an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineer. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of comprehensive logistics solutions for Defence projects. You will be responsible for conducting thorough logistics supportability analyses, contributing to design processes, developing support plans, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimized system performance, reliability, and maintainability. You will be responsible for supporting ILS delivery that covers the full product life cycle, from concept to disposal.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Logistics Supportability Analysis: Conduct detailed Logistics Supportability Analysis using techniques such as Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analysis. Identify potential failure modes, risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support Plan Development: Develop comprehensive Support Plans and related ILS documentation for defence projects. Define logistics support strategies, including spare parts provisioning, maintenance schedules, training plans, and technical documentation.
  • Design Input: Provide ILS input to the design process, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure that logistics considerations are integrated into the design of defence systems. Identify opportunities to enhance system supportability and reduce life cycle costs.
  • Tenders and Proposals: Contribute ILS expertise to tenders and proposals by assessing logistics requirements, estimating support costs, and developing logistics solutions that align with customer needs and industry best practices.
  • Systems Engineering: Contribute to the systems engineering process and product development by providing input on logistics-related requirements, identifying potential design improvements, and ensuring that system designs are optimized for maintainability and reliability.
  • ILS Documentation: developing the required ILS documentation and participating in the design, development, manufacture, and testing processes required to successfully deliver our products.

SKILLS & EXPERINECE NEEDED

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1.
  • Have ILS/LSA experience.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics supportability analysis techniques, such as FMECA, RCM, LORA, and RAM.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles is advantageous.
  • Experience within the Defence Industry.
