AWS Cloud Architect - NV1 Clearance - **Urgent Role***

About the Role

A unique opportunity for an AWS Cloud Architect to play a key role in managing cloud-based solutions for major Defence and National Intelligence projects. This role involves working with secure cloud platforms, enabling seamless access to critical data, applications, and workflows across Defence and Government agencies.

The role will focus on supporting and enhancing cloud-native systems that power high-impact missions, including disaster relief, security operations, and geospatial intelligence. The ongoing cloud transformation is driven by data-centric decision-making and aims to integrate advanced cloud technologies to meet the evolving demands of national security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cloud technology initiatives, providing technical input on AWS-based solutions
  • Design and implement high-availability, disaster recovery, and cloud security strategies
  • Oversee cloud security audits and develop self-managed, self-healing security rulesets
  • Manage and enhance cloud-native systems, ensuring scalability and performance
  • Support data-sharing agreements and ensure compliance with security standards
  • Collaborate with security specialists, architects, and product owners to define technical designs
  • Implement best practices for AWS cloud automation, orchestration, and monitoring

Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a Cloud Solution Architect with deep knowledge of AWS
  • Proven expertise in cloud security, virtualisation, and cloud-native architectures
  • Strong understanding of TOGAF, SOA, ITIL, and cloud infrastructure design
  • Hands-on experience with AWS native technologies, including compute, storage, networking, and security services
  • Ability to manage cloud-based applications, automation tools, and orchestration platforms
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Security Requirements

  • Must hold an active NV1 clearance (or higher)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required Defence security requirements
