We are actively seeking an experienced Business Development Lead for a position with a Canberra based professional services business. We are looking for a driven and service-focused individual who will play a vital role in defining and developing growth in the defence market sector.
Your responsibilities will include the ownership of several sales projects for a specific customer or market sector, ensuring deep understanding of evolving customer needs and how propositions could be deployed to meet those needs.
- Lead the preparation of tenders, bids and proposals.
- Provide support on a range of projects involving analytical and technical skills in one or more operating areas as directed.
- Assist project lead and project team in completing project tasks to meet client requirements.
- Identify and escalate potential variations in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to Managing Consultants, Consultants and Graduate Consultants as required.
- Communicate effectively with project team and relevant client staff.
- Complete all project administrative tasks as specified in the company's quality manual and procedures.
SKILLS & EXPERINECE NEEDED
- Tertiary Qualification(s) in relevant field and at least five years industry experience.
- Strong research and analytic skills.
- Sound negotiation skills.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in the Australian Defence environment
- Computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience with professional services business environments preferred.
