We are partnering with a well-established engineering and services organisation supporting complex Defence and industrial platforms across Australia. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Defence Field Service Supervisor to lead field service and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities across New South Wales.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical expertise, operational oversight, and stakeholder engagement, with responsibility for delivering Defence-aligned projects safely, on time, and within budget.

About the Role

The Defence Field Service Supervisor will oversee all NSW-based field service operations while supporting broader business growth initiatives. You will manage on-site and off-site service activities, supervise deployed field staff from interstate, and act as a key point of contact for Defence customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

The role is both technical and operational, requiring strong leadership capability alongside deep experience in electro/electronic-hydraulic and mechanical systems.

The role will be based in the Central Coast and will require some travel to Sydney.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all NSW Defence field service and MRO activities, including interstate resource deployment
  • Perform and supervise strip, survey, repair, overhaul, rebuild and testing of electro/electronic-hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Ensure QA hold points, documentation, and compliance requirements are met
  • Manage facilities, tools, test rigs, vehicles, and calibration equipment across NSW operations
  • Support Defence-related business development, client servicing, and supplier management activities
  • Deliver agreed schedules, budgets, and profitability targets
  • Identify and drive operational improvements and efficiencies
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external Defence stakeholders
  • Ensure WHS compliance and safe work practices at all times

About You

  • Trade qualification in mechanical, electrical, or related field
  • Proven experience supervising Defence or industrial field service and/or MRO operations
  • Experience supporting Defence platforms or similar complex systems will be highly regarded.
  • Strong technical background in electro/electronic-hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and coordinating resources
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to broader Defence program objectives
  • Australian Citizenship required and eligibility for an NV1 security clearance

All applications should include your resume as a word document.
