Due to the nature of clients we work with here at Kinexus and the projects these roles will be based on, an Australian Government Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance is essential.
These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Network Administrators implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.
The Network Administrator under broad direction from the Commonwealth will be responsible for a range of activities contributing to the design, build, test and operation of ICT systems and network services to support the delivery of modern mobility solutions for senior government officials. Project activities under the project include expanding the existing network infrastructure, and complex gateway services, to support secure mobility solutions.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out consolidation of legacy networks onto the current ASD baseline network architecture through the provision of configuration, implementation, documentation and post-installation activities.
- Undertake network installations in accordance with detailed design documentation and guidance.
- Operate and troubleshoot network hardware, including switches, routers, Firewalls, gateways and wireless equipment (Palo-Alto technologies, SILICONROAD).
- Handle TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP network topology tasks.
- Monitor enterprise proxy and load balancing systems and experience with different systems and architecture.
- Utilise Automation tools such as Ansible , Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator to sustain network,
- Provide second level support incident Response to the ASD Deployed Top Secret Network environment in support of the Defence Intelligence Agencies and other customers.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Well-developed knowledge with either Juniper, CISCO or HP Network Equipment.
- Juniper and/or CISCO Certifications.
- Proven experience with OSPF and BGP routing, deployable and mobile technologies.
- Proven experience in network systems configuration, testing and installations.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- NTAS4 Applies technical expertise to maintain and optimise network infrastructure, executing updates and employing automation tools. Uses network management tools to monitor load, performance, and security statistics. Investigates and enables the resolution of network-related operational and security issues. Configures tools and/or creates scripts to automate network tasks. Maintains operational procedures and checks that they are followed. Provides reports and proposals for improvement to stakeholders. Contributes to the planning and implementation of network maintenance, updates, and security enhancements. Implements agreed network changes and maintenance routines.
- ITOP4 Applies technical expertise to maintain and optimise technology infrastructure, executing updates and employing automation tools. Configures tools and/or creates scripts to automate infrastructure tasks. Maintains operational procedures and checks that they are followed, including adherence to security policies. Uses infrastructure management tools to monitor load, performance, and security metrics. Investigates and enables the resolution of operational and security-related issues. Provides reports and proposals for improvement to stakeholders. Contributes to the planning and implementation of infrastructure maintenance and updates. Implements agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines.
- HSIN3 Installs or removes hardware and/or software, using supplied installation instructions and tools, including handover to the client. Uses standard procedures and diagnostic tools to test installations, correct problems, and document results. Records details of all components that have been installed and removed. Assists users and follows agreed procedures for further help or escalation. Contributes to the development of installation procedures and standards.
