Location: Canberra (Onsite required)
Contract Length: 12 Months (Possible extensions)
Clearance: Current TSPV mandatory

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with deep expertise in Oracle Exadata environments to support a major federal programme. This role will work within a high-security environment, ensuring the availability, performance, and integrity of mission-critical database systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimise Oracle databases across Exadata platforms.
• Perform routine database tasks including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
• Monitor database performance, diagnose issues, and implement remedial actions to maintain optimal system health.
• Support migration, consolidation, and modernisation activities within secure Oracle environments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and standards.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cyber teams to ensure secure and stable database operations.

Key Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in large, complex environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata
• Experience working within secure government or defence environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot both database and Exadata infrastructure issues.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
