Are you a results-driven Project Manager looking for a short-term challenge that makes a big impact? Kinexus is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver critical project outcomes for a maritime Defence capability. This 6-week contract is your chance to showcase your leadership, strategic thinking, and project management expertise within a high-performing Defence team.

You'll work closely with a specialised team to plan, manage, and deliver key project milestones, ensuring alignment with Defence Capability Lifecycle requirements. If you're proactive, agile, and thrive under tight deadlines, this role is for you!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct planning, scheduling, and estimating of tasks to meet Defence requirements efficiently and effectively.
• Develop and manage project documentation, ensuring compliance with Defence standards and facilitating approval processes.
• Maintain consistent communication and information flow across the project team, senior executives, and other stakeholders, tailoring messaging to meet their needs.
• Lead a small team of specialists, ensuring clear communication, delegation of tasks, and high-performance delivery within tight timeframes.
• Apply advanced project management methodologies, managing risks, budgets, and schedules to ensure project success.
• Ensure adherence to NMCP Business Processes and reporting requirements, maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Proven experience in Defence project management, including planning, risk, budget, and schedule management.
• Strong understanding of the Defence Capability Lifecycle and procurement processes, with the ability to navigate complex project environments.
• Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to inspire high performance under pressure.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry experience in Project Management, with a recognised certification such as PRINCE2 or AIPM.
• Familiarity with Agile Methodology and its application in dynamic project environments.
