Due to the nature of clients we work with here at Kinexus and the projects these roles will be based on, an Australian Government Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance is essential.
These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Project Officers assist in the operations of a Project/Program/Portfolio Office and the delivery of projects.

Initial contract duration: 12 months
Extension term: 12 months

Location of work: QLD, ACT, VIC
Working arrangements: Onsite. Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement. Candidates required to have PV clearance.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable to contribute to the development and maintenance of project, program and/or portfolio planning and performance process in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards.
- Assist with preparations for project test, evaluation and acceptance programs.
- Apply project methodologies to administrative and technical activities.
- Research, draft and prepare briefs, correspondence and reports including submissions for committee consideration.
- Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member and provide constructive feedback.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders as requested by senior project management.
- Maintain financial records under the direction of the Project Manager.
- Conduct other project related tasks within the scope of the stated APS level, as required by the business area.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Project Officer or similar role
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, SaFE etc.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and other project applications.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- Portfolio, programme and project support (PROF) level 3: Provides foundational support for projects, programmes, or portfolios. Assists with planning, scheduling, tracking and reporting using established tools and processes. Follows recommended solutions to ensure accurate documentation and communication of project progress. Collaborates closely with project teams and stakeholders, gathering updates and information to maintain project records and ensure alignment with project objectives. Participates in project boards, assurance teams and quality review meetings when necessary.
- Project management (PRMG) level 4: Defines, documents and executes small projects or sub-projects. Works independently or with a small team, actively participating in all project phases. Applies appropriate project management methods and tools. Identifies, assesses and manages risks effectively. Prepares realistic project plans ((including scope, schedule, quality, risk and communication plans), ensuring stakeholder involvement and alignment with organisational governance standards. Tracks activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate. Monitors costs, times, quality and resources used. Takes action where these exceed agreed tolerances.
- Quality management (QUMG) level 3: Uses appropriate methods and a systematic approach to developing, maintaining, controlling and distributing quality and environmental standards. Makes technical changes to and controls the updates and distribution of quality standards. Distributes new and revised standards.
- Australian Citizenship and a TSPV security clearance is essential
