About the Role

Our client is looking for a Calibration Engineer to join a passionate team and to grow their career within the Defence Industry. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skillsets in Radio Frequency, Avionics, and measurement systems. This role is ideal for someone who has recently graduated or looking to take the next step in their defence careers.


About You

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Desirable
  • Understanding of Radio Frequency theories and practices
  • Experience working in a NATA accredited calibration Lab
  • Strong communication Skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem-solving under pressure

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Calibration of Electronic Test Equipment - (Primarily RF and avionics but also would include Data, Fibre Optic and general electronic measuring equipment.)
  • Repair of all above Test Equipment.
  • Maintain paperwork relevant to jobs undertaken in an efficient manner.
  • Prepare quotations, calibration reports and service reports for repair or calibration jobs.
  • Maintain high quality of workmanship standards.
  • Keep designated work place as well as general area clean and tidy.
  • To be pro-active in dealing with service jobs so that they are completed efficiently with minimum turn around times.
  • Assist the Calibration Officer with calibration, repair and intermediate checks of Vicom Test Equipment.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining the 'NATA Accreditation criteria', which includes development and upkeep of calibration masters and quality records.
  • To research technical problems or one-off issues and recommend solutions when assigned.
  • To develop test procedures and write technical reports in conjuction with the Quality Manager and/or Calibration Officer.
  • Maintenance of reference equipment calibration, and development of new test procedures and calibration formats.
  • Perform Uncertainty of Measurement calculations for new and regular customer units.
  • To actively ensure total customer satisfaction in all Vicom dealings.
  • Achieve set KPI and QPI targets for individual and team.
