Due to the nature of clients we work with here at Kinexus and the projects these roles will be based on, an Australian Government Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance is essential.
These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.

Initial contract duration: 12 months
Extension term: 12 months

Location of work: ACT, SA, VIC
Working arrangements: Hybrid. Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement. Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess a wide range of systems and configurations for cyber security issues
- Conduct workshops and run assessment tooling to elicit information required for an accurate assessment of an environment
- Provide recommendations for remediation of cyber security issues
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Security system design tools, methods and techniques
- Integration and optimisation of system components
- Cyber security and privacy principles and organisational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non- repudiation).
- Skills in Countermeasure design for identified security risks.
- Skills in Cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Cyber role, demonstrating skills in:
- Security system design tools, methods and techniques
- Integration and optimisation of system components
- Cyber security and privacy principles and organisational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non- repudiation).
- Skills in Countermeasure design for identified security risks.
- Skills in Cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Demonstrated experience in assessing security controls based on cyber security principles and tenets (e.g. CIS CSC, NIST SP 800-53, Cyber Security Framework)
- Ability in writing code in a current supported programming language (e.g. Java, C++).
- Experience in determining how a security system should work (including its resilience and dependability capabilities) and how changes in conditions, operations or the environment will affect these outcomes.
- Experience in recognising vulnerabilities in security systems (e.g. vulnerability and compliance scanning)
- Communicate with a broad range of stakeholders (Technical and non-technical), including conducting workshops to highlight security issues and their associated fixes
- Australian Citizenship and a NV1 security clearance is essential
