Due to the nature of clients we work with here at Kinexus and the projects these roles will be based on, an Australian Government Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance is essential.
These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Cloud Project Officer will be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment, be responsive and resilient to shifting priorities, and will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills suited to an audience spanning senior executives, industry partners and a wide range of business, technical and security stakeholders. Prior experience in NIC roles and security culture, familiarity with Australian Government protective security policy and practices relevant to highly classified environments is highly desirable.

Working arrangements: Onsite. Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement. Candidates must have Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) or Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) Security Clearance.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ASD requires an APS 6 equivalent Senior Cloud Project Officer to support the design, implementation, and ongoing governance of cloud‑based initiatives across the agency, ensuring that all solutions meet the ASD stringent security, privacy, and resilience requirements while delivering measurable business value.
The Senior Cloud Project Officer will be required to:
- Handle a variety of other project delivery work tasks including being able to adapt and respond to promptly changing and competing priorities at short notice;
- Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative course of action;
- Provide high-quality secretariat services for multi-agency governance forums including organising meetings and room bookings, preparing and submitting agendas, minutes and briefing papers, and following up on the status of actions arising from these meetings to support project/team;
- Provide effective executive brief writing, program reporting and written stakeholder communications;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures;
- Establish and maintain project management artefacts in accordance with the endorsed project management methods and ensure their continued suitability to define, control and manage all work associated with a project, eg progress reports, risk and issue reports;
- Provide Objective administration and records management including providing advice and implementation of accesses, structure and the records management processes within the project;
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders within established working groups, and actively participate in team work and group activities;
- Facilitation of work package planning and execution, to assist the project team with planning improvement and reduce the risk of scope creep;
- Host regular daily stand-ups to track team progress, and note any obstacles that have the potential to keep the team from completing tasks.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Essential criteria
- Professional certification or training in Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Agile SCM).
- Experience working in a NIC agency in a project role on a large program or project.
- Demonstrated experience working with an agile project methodology as a Project Officer.
- Demonstrated experience supporting program or project control boards or project meetings (i.e. minutes, agendas, action items, tracking progress, reporting).
- Australian Citizenship and a NV1 or NV2 security clearance is essential
Desirable criteria
- Skills and experience in commercial cloud platforms and concepts in a project role.
- Experience working with Azure Dev Ops and GovTEAMS.
