Our client is looking for a hands-on Senior Hardware Engineer to join a high-performing team delivering mission-critical electronic systems for defence programs.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Australian citizen who is eligible to obtain or hold NV1 security clearance. You'll take technical ownership of complex designs from concept through to production, working across RF, digital hardware, and system integration in a fast-moving, project-focused environment.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead VHF/UHF RF and digital hardware design across the full lifecycle
• Develop schematics and high-quality PCB designs using Altium
• Ensure systems meet requirements and relevant military standards
• Support verification, test development, integration and fault-finding
• Identify technical risks and drive solutions that deliver reliable, high-quality outcomes

What you'll bring:

• Strong experience in VHF/UHF RF and digital electronic design
• Solid background in PCB layout, materials, and manufacturing methods
• Hands-on testing experience using lab equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyser, VNA, etc.)
• Ability to clearly document designs and communicate with cross-functional teams
• Proven ability to manage your workload, contribute to team delivery and take ownership of technical outcomes

Highly regarded:

• Experience designing or supporting military-grade hardware
• Familiarity with MIL-STD EMC and environmental standards
• Knowledge of configuration management
• Experience with antennas, enclosures, or mechanical integration
• SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD experience
