They are currently seeking an experienced IT Systems and Security Administrator to join their team.
About the Role: As the IT Systems and Security Administrator, you will play a crucial role in shaping and maintaining the ICT platforms that support our client's advanced engineering solutions for the Commonwealth. Key Responsibilities:
- IT Infrastructure Management * Oversee and optimize computer systems, network servers, and cloud-based services * Manage virtualization environments (Hyper-V/VMware) * Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud technologies
- User Support and Vendor Management * Deliver Level 1 and 2 technical support to end-users * Serve as the primary point of contact between the business and external IT vendors/MSPs * Coordinate user onboarding/offboarding across multiple systems
- Security and Compliance * Implement robust cybersecurity controls aligned with the Defence Information Security Manual (ISM) and global standards (NIST, ISO, PCI DSS) * Develop and maintain ICT cyber security strategies, policies, and processes * Ensure adherence to the Defence Security Principles Framework
- System Enhancement and Documentation * Collaborate on designing and implementing innovative IT solutions * Create comprehensive technical documentation and conduct user training * Stay abreast of technological advancements and propose strategic improvements
Required Experience and Qualifications - (it's the wish list!)
- Proven expertise in Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure
- Broad knowledge across PowerShell, SharePoint, virtualization (Hyper-V/VMware), backup systems, antivirus & endpoint protection, and IP networking (LAN, SDN & WAN)
- Solid experience in L2 support (essential), L3 support (desirable)
- Familiarity with interpreting and implementing ISM or NIST SP 800-53 controls (desirable)
- Strong background in networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity practices
- Ability to obtain or current NV1 Security Clearance
- Eligibility for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearance
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex IT concepts into layman's terms
- Degree in IT or related field, or equivalent professional experience
