Our client are seeking a Technical Service Manager to be based in Newcastle. The role is critical for the management of navigational aids, surveillance and RADAR systems for defence. Because of the nature of the contract, candidates need to be able to directly liaise with the customer understand the nature of the technology and its employment but also act as an engineering an asset point of contact.
The successful applicant will work within a dynamic team and an industry leader in the Defence Sector, candidates will need to have a traceable engineering history in working with either navigational aids or radars. This is a key role within the team that will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, you will be involved in the management of the asset with the customer directly.
The Role:
- Support the ASTE Manager on capability
- Investigate, resolve, diagnose and resolve engineering issues
- Liaise with the Commonwealth on the capability
- Exercise Engineering Authority
- Support Technical inspections
- Support contractual agreement
- Lead repair and maintenance support to mission-critical & controlled items
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in resolution of technical issues
Requirements:
- Engineering qualifications in Electronics or Electrical
- Experienced in navigational aids and RADAR systems
- Excellent working knowledge in technical and engineering standards
- Traceable Leadership in complex engineering projects
- Experienced in understanding contracts and statements of work.
- Experienced in making improvements to process and procedures
- Experience in the setting up and application of testing equipment
- Experienced in business improvements
- Applicants MUST hold a current, AGSVA Issued, NV1
This role is a critical position within the organisation that requires a mature self-starter, to manage a team of specialists and act as the point of contact for the asset.
