Our defence client is looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to support a project focused on improving and optimising manufacturing applications. This role is crucial in enhancing user experience and functionality within a high-stakes, defence-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

User Research and Analysis:

  • Lead user research initiatives, including interviews, surveys, and usability studies.
  • Synthesize user feedback and behavioral data to drive design decisions.

Design Development:

  • Create and refine wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and site maps for complex systems.
  • Design high-fidelity mock-ups and user interfaces with a focus on functionality and aesthetics.
  • Develop and uphold design systems and style guides to ensure design consistency.
  • Work closely with developers to define system user experience.

Interactive Prototyping:

  • Develop advanced interactive prototypes to simulate and validate user experiences.
  • Utilize industry-standard prototyping tools to create dynamic, clickable prototypes.
  • Iterate on prototypes based on comprehensive user and stakeholder feedback.


  • Collaborate with project team, vendor, production operations staff, and other stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into user-friendly designs.
  • Guide the development team on technical feasibility and implementation of designs.
  • Lead design reviews and effectively incorporate feedback from cross-functional teams.

Usability Testing:

  • Plan, conduct, and analyze usability testing sessions to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement iterative design changes based on test results to enhance user experience.
  • Advocate for user needs and ensure all design solutions adhere to usability and accessibility standards.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UI/UX design.
  • Actively seek and propose innovative design solutions to improve user experience.



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.


  • 7+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong background in designing complex software systems.
  • Proven track record of leading user research, usability testing, and design implementation.
  • Exposure or experience in UI/UX for manufacturing-oriented software/applications (understanding of the environment) would be highly advantageous.


  • Expertise in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and information architecture.
  • Exceptional visual design skills and a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Ability to create and maintain responsive designs across various devices and platforms.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale.
