Data Analyst

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Data Analyst to support a high-priority employment remediation project. This role will focus on integrating, cleansing, and validating complex workforce and payroll data from multiple legacy sources.

Depending on experience, the successful candidate may also take on lead responsibilities, including structuring the dataset and guiding other analysts.

Contract Details

• Start: ASAP
• Location: Melbourne CBD

• Contract Length:4 Months with potential extensions.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate non-standard and fragmented datasets (payroll, HR records, legacy systems, manual inputs) into a single dataset
• Clean, structure, and validate data to ensure accuracy and auditability
• Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, gaps, and anomalies
• Build and maintain Excel-based models and reconciliation frameworks
• Support remediation calculations and reporting outputs
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to validate data integrity
• Work at pace to deliver against tight project timelines

For more senior candidates:

• Take ownership of the overall data structure and approach
• Provide direction and oversight to supporting analysts
• Engage stakeholders to ensure alignment on data assumptions and outputs

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience working with complex, messy, or incomplete datasets
• Advanced Excel capability (data manipulation, formulas, pivots, reconciliation)
• Experience in payroll, workforce data, or remediation projects highly desirable
• Ability to consolidate multiple data sources into a usable format
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and audit requirements
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
• Proactive, hands-on mindset with a clear "get it done" approach
