Job Title: Enterprise Architect - Defence Secure Environments

Location: Melbourne, VIC

Contract: 12 Month Contract

Overview

Our client, a leading telecommunications organisation supporting government and defence

programs, is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to support a major security uplift

program. The organisation is currently progressing through a Defence Industry Security Program

(DISP) uplift, and this role will play a critical part in designing and implementing secure

enterprise architecture aligned with defence security requirements.

This position will focus on the design and delivery of secure IT environments and enclaves that

meet stringent defence and national security standards. The successful candidate will work

closely with security, infrastructure, and program teams to define architecture that supports

compliance, scalability, and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of enterprise architecture supporting secure defence environments.

• Architect and implement secure enclaves and segregated IT environments aligned with defence and national security requirements.

• Support the organisation's DISP uplift, ensuring architecture aligns with applicable security frameworks and accreditation requirements.

• Define and document target architecture, roadmaps, and security architecture patterns for secure environments.

• Work with infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to guide the implementation of secure networks, systems, and platforms.

• Provide architectural governance and ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and defence compliance obligations.

• Produce high-quality architecture documentation, diagrams, and security design artefacts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across technology, security, and leadership teams to align business and technical requirements.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working as an Enterprise Architect or Senior Architect within complex enterprise environments.

• Strong experience designing secure enclaves, segmented environments, or classified IT environments.

• Demonstrated experience delivering defence or national security IT environments.
• Experience supporting or delivering DISP uplift or defence security compliance
• Strong knowledge of secure architecture principles, network segmentation, identity management, and secure infrastructure design.

• Experience producing enterprise architecture frameworks, roadmaps, and technical standards.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to work across technical and executive

Desirable

• Experience working with Defence, Defence industry partners, or government security frameworks.

• Familiarity with Information Security Manual (ISM) and secure system accreditation processes.

• Background within telecommunications or large-scale critical infrastructure environments.

• Minimum of active and current NV1 or higher Australian Government security clearance
