Cyber Advisors provide ICT security advice and assistance to government, including policy creation, project advice and assistance, and research.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for the certification or validation of systems to support accreditations through collecting and analysing cyber and information security data.
- Accountable for high quality information and cyber security reporting, policy or doctrine. This may include analysis, detection and response statistics, security incidents and breaches; and formal correspondence.
- Translate and explain complex information on a range of information and cyber security matters including representation at domestic and international forums.
- Research and analyse complex information and cyber security related activities or data to drive and influence the improvement of security posture and in support of the development of practices, principles and policy.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with stakeholders and customers relating to the suitability and implementation of information and cyber security systems, policies, standards and guidelines.
- Motivate and mentor team members, aligning complementary skills and allocate resources in a manner that delivers results.
- Establish, assess and analyse information and cyber security practices and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, principles, policies, standards and guidelines.
- Evaluate business practices and objectives to understand critical factors for success; and engage in activities to achieve continuous improvement.
- Is innovative in research techniques to identify information and cyber security vulnerabilities and forecast potential threats to improve security posture.
- Certification as IRAP Assessor desirable
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- 1.Ability to plan, manage and execute vulnerability assessments and/or risk assessments in relation to information security and cyber security.
- 2.Demonstrated experience in researching tools and techniques in the cyber security/information security domain and the ability to translate complex data into business level reporting.
- 3.Demonstrated experience in the investigation, analysis and assessment of security breaches and/or threats and associated mitigation strategies.
- 4.Experience in creation/maintenance of cyber security and/or information security practices, procedures, standards and guidelines.
- Australian Citizenship and a TSPV security clearance is essential
