Our client is seeking an experienced Aircraft Life Support (ALS) Fitter to deliver high-quality aviation technical training to Defence trainees in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with mentoring and instructional responsibilities, supporting the development of the next generation of Defence technical aerospace personnel. The successful candidate will have experience in delivering high-level and on-time training to new members to the ADF. This role is crucial in ensuring that new members are fully competent and understand the importance of technical quality, safety, and professionalism in their day-to-day responsibilities.
This role would be ideal for former members or members looking to make a change who have an eye for detail, good interpersonal skills, and an understanding of the national training framework.
The role:
- Deliver and develop aviation technical training for Defence trainees
- Provide instruction across Aircraft Life Support (ALS) and Core Aeroskills
- Supervise, coach, and mentor trainees in a simulated aviation training environment
- Maintain, inspect, and service Aircraft Life Support equipment
- Provide specialist technical advice and support to the Aviation Technical Training (ATT) program
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Defence and industry stakeholders
To be successful:
- Certificate III in Aircraft Life Support and Furnishing or
Certificate IV in Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (mandatory) - Industry experience as an ALS Fitter or Aviation Maintenance Engineer
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or a willingness to obtain
- Strong communication, instructional, and mentoring skills
- A professional approach with a strong focus on safety and compliance
- Experience working within a Defence or Defence aviation environment
- Previous instructional, coaching, or training experience
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- A current or previous AGSVA NV1 clearance
