Kinexus is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support one of Australia's most groundbreaking Defence programs - the MQ-28 Collaborative Combat Aircraft. Based in Brisbane, this role places you at the forefront of cyber-secure, autonomous aircraft development, working alongside a team of system specialists to design and implement resilient, high-assurance solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Secure Systems Implementation: Design and deploy cyber security controls aligned with industry standard frameworks.
• System Administration: Configure, maintain and secure Windows and Linux systems, including integration of identity and access management (IAM) and MFA solutions.
• Automation & Scripting: Automate system admin and security tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible.
• Vulnerability Management: Use tools like Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS to identify, report, and remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Collaboration & Documentation: Partner with architects and engineers to build secure solutions, while producing clear, concise documentation.
• Cross-Site Support: Support secure environments across Defence sites.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Technical Background: Qualifications in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or equivalent field.
• Security Controls: Proven experience applying security hardening and managing compliance with ISM or similar frameworks in complex systems.
• Platform Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux administration in secure, virtualised environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Automation Proficiency: Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible.
• Defence Experience: Previous experience in Defence environments is a must.
• Certifications (Desirable): CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
