Kinexus is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join a significant Defence air domain project located in Canberra. You will be stepping into a role pivotal for supporting complex engineering initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and capability development. Leveraging your strong systems engineering background, you will provide technical assessments, lead feasibility studies, and contribute significantly to Defence project governance frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Systems Engineering Leadership: Conduct detailed engineering assessments and feasibility studies, contributing to capability definition and project scoping.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a primary technical liaison, engaging stakeholders across Defence to define scope, capability requirements, and establish project governance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation in accordance with Defence policies, standards, and project milestones.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and opportunities proactively to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Technical Oversight: Review and evaluate contracted deliverables to ensure alignment with Defence project specifications and quality standards.
- Mentorship & SME Guidance: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to project team members, fostering professional growth and team capability.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Defence Project Experience: Extensive background in Systems Engineering, specifically within Defence air, naval or sub-surface domains.
- Engineering Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Systems Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of requirements management, system integration, verification, validation, modelling, and simulation methodologies.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional skills in communicating complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Documentation & Compliance: Proven experience developing and maintaining technical documentation aligned to Defence project standards.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Australian Citizenship: Required due to Defence security standards.
- Security Clearance: Must have a current NV1 security clearance and be ITAR compliant.
