These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).

ABOUT THIS ROLE
ASD requires a Cloud Automation Specialist for the delivery of a scalable and secure cloud automation to support ASD's resiliency goals and objectives for PROTECTED capabilities while also considering dependency and dependent systems and services. Additionally, the candidate must work with ASD customers to design cost effective, secure and resilient cloud based PROTECTED solutions. Furthermore, they must identify opportunities to consolidate, simplify, streamline, and continually improve cloud based or cloud utilising internal and customer capability.

Working arrangements: Onsite. Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement. Candidates required to have NV1 clearance.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify opportunities for automation within software processes.
  • Run tests using tools and scripts for databases, systems, networks and applications.
  • Test automated techniques to ensure they perform effectively and complete the assigned tasks.
  • Design and execute QA tests using scripts and tools that automatically test functionality.
  • Identify bugs and quality issues during the software development life cycle, and/or business and back end processes within the scope of automation.
  • Collaborate with other business units to understand how you can use automation to improve workflow.
  • Design and implement automated solutions for cloud-based infrastructure, such as scripts.
  • Manage complex cloud environments, including security measures for protecting data
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in either I.T, system engineering, computer science or other related field
  • Strong skills in programming and Scripting.
  • Expertise in at least one major cloud platform - AWS preferred.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-code
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
  • Solid understanding of computer programming and software development, BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
  • Experience with one or more Automation tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational skills and attention to detail with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate well with other members of the development team.
  • Australian Citizenship and a TSPV security clearance is essential
