Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.

Location of work: QLD, ACT, VIC
Working arrangements: Onsite. Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement. Candidates required to have NV2 clearance.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for managing allocated resources, setting work priorities and managing workflows to ensure accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements.
- Accountable for installation projects, providing effective team leadership and ensuring effective stakeholder engagement during project work.
- Lead the development and implementation of policies and strategies and the evaluation of business outcomes to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of ICT systems administration.
- Maintain and apply knowledge, experience and skills to meet capability needs, utilising hardware and software products relevant to systems administration, current functionality and Defence's business domain.
- Use experience in change management, customer service and conflict resolution to maintain the continuity of capability delivery, ICT operation and business functions.
- Work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement solutions and goal of a non-routine or contingency nature.
- Solve issues for a defined range of unpredictable problems following established operating policies and procedures.
- Evaluation project to understand critical factors for success and engage activities or technical specialists to achieve continuous improvement.
- Diploma or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related fields.
- Proficient in operating systems, networking, database management and security protocols.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- Demonstrated experience with the design, installation and de-installation of large and/or complex systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the analysis and reporting of service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability. This includes analysis against agreed performance targets and service levels.
- Demonstrated experience in the creation and/or maintenance of issue resolution/disaster recovery plans and the testing of said plans.
- Demonstrated experience in problem root cause analysis and the ability to initiate appropriate mitigation/resolution strategies.
- Australian Citizenship and a NV2 security clearance is essential
