Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.

Location of work: QLD, ACT, VIC
Working arrangements: Onsite. Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement. Candidates required to have NV2 clearance.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable to contribute to the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of network problems and provide advice on preventative strategies.
- Responsible to ensure all requests for support are dealt with and manage any outstanding problems in accordance with Defence and ASD standards, policies and procedures.
- Use experience to design and implement network changes and maintenance routines.
- Apply knowledge to explain and capitalise on the capabilities of current Defence and industry data, voice and audio networking devices and procedures.
- Build and sustain effective working relationships and actively participate in team activities.
- Interpret and comply with security policy and contribute to the development of standards and guidelines.
- Investigate and resolve network problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.
- Diploma or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related fields.
- Proficient in network automation.
- High level of knowledge on protocols, architectures, devices, topologies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- Demonstrated experience with infrastructure management tools to determine load and performance of systems/software. This includes the configuration or creation of automation scripting.
- Demonstrated experience in the analysis of service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability. This includes analysis against agreed performance targets and service levels.
- Demonstrated experience in the investigation of systems issues and the resolution/mitigation of these issues.
- Demonstrated experience in the installation, de-installation of complex systems or system components.
- Australian Citizenship and a NV2 security clearance is essential
