A global organisation operating within a highly regulated Defence environment is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the assessment, design and implementation of a data centre capability supporting mission and enterprise systems.
This role will suit a Systems Engineer with a strong ICT infrastructure background, comfortable working across requirements, design assurance, engineering change and sustainment activities in complex environments.
The Role
The Systems Engineer will provide end-to-end systems engineering support across infrastructure and ICT systems, ensuring design integrity, compliance and operational readiness throughout the lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Perform core systems engineering activities including requirements analysis and traceability, system design, analysis, verification and validation.
Lead and deliver engineering changes in line with the Engineering Management Plan, including Engineering Change Proposals and Applications for Deviation.
Conduct technical risk assessments, identifying and mitigating risks associated with system and infrastructure changes.
Develop and update design and engineering documentation in accordance with approved changes.
Support fault finding and implementation across ICT systems and applications underpinning infrastructure, processes and operations.
Provide engineering support across servers, networks, applications, software and security.
Work closely with senior engineering stakeholders, including the Chief Engineer and Systems Engineering Manager, on assigned tasks and priorities.
What You'll Need
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
Demonstrated experience as a Systems Engineer within Defence or a similarly regulated industry.
Strong ICT infrastructure knowledge, with the ability to operate across complex technical environments.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills, including root cause analysis and development of practical, risk-based solutions.
Proven ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining system integrity.
A proactive, continuous improvement mindset.
Security & Compliance Requirements
Australian Citizenship.
An active NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance (or previously held).
Ability to access and work with ITAR-controlled information (mandatory).
