  Overview

  Our client, a leading organisation supporting secure government and defence environments, is seeking an experienced NV1 cleared System Administrator to support a major infrastructure project involving the replication and migration of a production environment from VMware to Hyper-V.

  Working within a secure project team, the successful candidate will assist in building and replicating environments, supporting migration activities, working with Juniper network infrastructure, and ensuring all environments are properly documented and maintained. This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone experienced in virtualisation, infrastructure administration, and operating within high-security environments.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Support the replication and build of production environments as part of a migration from VMware to Hyper-V.
  • Assist with virtual infrastructure deployment, configuration, and administration across the project environment.
  • Work closely with infrastructure and network teams to ensure seamless integration with Juniper switching and network components.
  • Support environment builds, configuration management, and system hardening in secure environments.
  • Assist with testing, validation, and troubleshooting during migration activities.
  • Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, including build guides, system configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Support additional infrastructure and project delivery tasks as required.
  • Ensure all work aligns with security and compliance requirements within classified environments.

  Key Skills & Experience

  • Active NV1 security clearance (mandatory).
  • Strong experience as a System Administrator in secure government or defence environments.
  • Experience working with VMware environments and Hyper-V virtualisation platforms.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure migrations or environment replication projects.
  • Familiarity with Juniper networking equipment and switching environments.
  • Strong Windows Server administration experience.
  • Experience working in secure or classified IT environments with strict compliance requirements.
  • Ability to create clear and structured technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
